HIKING AND YOGA RETREAT

HIKING IS THE BEST VEHICLE TO EXPLORE, CONNECT AND SUBMERGE YOURSELF IN THE WHITE MOUNTAINS.  WE FIND THAT THE SUMMER MONTHS LEND THEMSELVES PERFECTLY TO HIKING, SWIMMING, YOGA ON THE PORCH AND GETTING LOST IN THE OUTDOORS.  OUR BODIES ARE BUILD FOR THESE ACTIVITIES BUT WE WILL TEACH YU HOW TO STAY IN TUNE WITH  YOUR MUSCLES, JOINTS AND SELF AS WE ADVENTURE THROUGH THE WOODS.

HIking

The retreat will showcase 2 hikes during the day on Saturday and Sunday.  The destination will be decided as we get closer to the retreat so that we can react to weather and trail conditions safely.  We will discuss how to assess the weather conditions to appropriately pack for each hike and what we typically carry in our backpacks.  The White Mountains area a mountain range with fickle weather so we have to prepare accordingly; the mystery and moodiness are why we like living here so much.

YOGA

Yoga in the morning prepares the body for the upcoming day and recovers us from the day previous.  We will have a morning yoga session on Saturday and Sunday.  Weather dependent we can hold it on the porch with an intimate view of Conway lake and perhaps a loon.

INJURY PREVENTION

As you prepare for the retreat, we will send along videos and an explanation of how our bodies move while hiking.  We ask that you work through the exercises before the retreat so that your muscles and bodies are ready to learn and hike as efficiently as possible.

What to expect

This retreat is designed to bring together a small group of women who are ready to tackle the rugged, rocky, and root-filled trails of the White Mountains.  The daily hikes will take us above tree line to reward ourselves with the vast views and breezy ridges.  We expect each hiker to be ready to climb up to 3,000 ft. vertical and hike for up to 5 hours each day.  The pace will be laid back but the trails here are technical and steep so please be prepared.   Please contact us with questions or concerns about the hiking.
